Diablo 4 Leveling Guide

D4 LEVELING GUIDE

DIABLO 4 LEVELING GUIDE

This Diablo 4 Leveling Guide will give you tips on important things to be aware of from level One to One-Hundred!  Enjoy, and if you have any questions about this D4 Leveling Guide don’t hesitate to reach out to me in the Discord or in my Twitch stream!

LEVEL 1 - 9

The first thing you’ll do as you level in Diablo 4 is follow the main story quest until you get to Kyovashad. There isn’t really anything you can miss that you can’t easily grab later. So enjoy the game, and the story.

Clear out Cellars you see for extra chances at loot and events

Keep an eye out for Altars of Lilith, they are tucked in along tree lines and on cliff faces, generally just off the beaten path.

Most of the Dungeons will be locked until you get to Kyovashad. Once you’ve been there however, be sure to clear out Dungeons you see to unlock Legendary Aspects. Hover over the dungeon to find out if the aspect inside can be worn by your class!

Harvest any Bushes you see along the way, these will be needed at level 10!

LEVEL 10 - 14

AT level 10 be sure to swing by Kyovashad and talk to the Alchemist to upgrade your potion. You have been picking the bushes you passed by, so you’ve already got the required materials in your craft bag!

While following this Diablo 4 leveling guide, be on the lookout for Priority Quests (Light Blue in color). You will have one for each crafting merchant in town between 10 and 15. These will allow you to upgrade your gear, gems, and potions.

Don’t spend a lot of money upgrading gear right now, you will find upgrades so fast that your money spent refining a piece of gear will be wasted.

Put gems in your gear when you find them, as they can be removed for free! So put them to use! then take them out later to upgrade them and use them again!

LEVEL 15 - 20

At level 15 do your Class Quest right away. This will be marked as a Priority Quest. It is worth stopping whatever you are doing to do your Class Quest because it is a massive power spike for every class.

To do your Class Quest, open your Journal and go to your Priority Quests and select your class quest to start tracking it!

Note: Every class has their own Class Quest that takes them somewhere different.

After this continue to follow the Main Story Quest, and feel free to deviate to as many Dungeons, Cellars, and Events as you want.  This will be a common statement as you progress through this Diablo 4 Leveling guide.

Events are the Orange Circles on the map and give great experience,  currency and upgrade materials.  Never run by an event without finishing it!

LEVEL 20 - 29

At level 20 you’ll continue to push the Main Story Quest, as well as completing any Dungeons, Cellars, and Events that you wish.

You should immediately go upgrade your Potion again, since you are now able to.

At this point in this D4 leveling guide you’re ready to start trying to join the Ashava World Boss fights when they spawn on the map. You get bonus loot for completing a World Boss once every week, so be sure to get your Ashava Kill every week!

LEVEL 30 - 49

At level 30 you’ll continue to push the Main Story Quest, as well as completing any Dungeons, Cellars, and Events that you wish.

You should immediately go upgrade your Potion again, since you are now able to.

At this point in the Diablo 4 leveling guide you’re ready to start trying to join more World Boss fights when they spawn on the map.

Assuming you kept up with the Main Story Quest you’ll now be unlocking your Mount as part of the Main Story Quest. If you had been avoiding the story, its time to finish it!

Once you have completed the Main Story Quest, you can now head over to the tree of whispers and collect its bounties! Definitely do this, its very rewarding!

As you get closer to 49 you will want to really start honing your build. You should have relevant Aspects on every piece of gear,  you should have solid stats. You’ve got a good challenge coming up next.

LEVEL 50-69

You should immediately go upgrade your Potion again, since you are now able to.

At Level 50 you will also no longer earn Skill Points, but instead  start collecting Paragon Points. You will receive one Paragon Point for every quarter of a level earned and these can be spent on your Paragon Board.

At 50 you are now eligible to do your World Tier 2: Veteran Capstone Dungeon. If you Successfully complete your Capstone Dungeon you will unlock World Tier 3: NightMare Difficulty.

Upon entering Nightmare Difficulty you will have now unlocked the ability to find Uniques, Sacred Items, and Nightmare Sigils. Sacred items are just better versions of Legendaries.

Uniques are giga-powerful legendary items with especially impresive aspects that can completely alter the way an ability performs.

NIGHTMARE DUNGEONS

Nightmare Sigils are Keys you will need to unlock Nightmare Dungeons

Upon completing a Nightmare Dungeon you will have a chance to find a Higher Tier Sigil which will unlock a Higher Tier Nightmare Dungeon. (similar to Mythic+)

Pushing Higher Tier Nightmare Dungeons allows you to Level up your Glyphs (think legendary gems from D3) that you can then slot into your Paragon Board for extra bonuses.

HELLTIDES

Next this D4 leveling guide will jump into the topic of Helltides. In Nightmare difficulty, Helltides will begin to spawn. These basically take over a zone. You kill the mobs to farm a helltide specific currency. You then take this currency and open a chest. Look for the Chest that drops the type of gear you need, whether it is boot, chest, weapon, etc. Don’t die, you will delete half the helltide currency you have found if you do.

Continue to push the any DungeonsCellarsEvents and World Boss Fights that you wish.

Don’t forget to upgrade your Potion at level 60.

As you get closer to 75 you will want to really start honing your build. You should have relevant Uniques in some of your gear slots,  you should have solid stats. You’ve got a good challenge coming up next.70

LEVEL 70 - 100

D4 Leveling Guide - Tree of Whispers

We’ve reached the final part of this d4 leveling guide. Good on you for making it this far!

You should immediately go upgrade your Potion again, since you are now able to.

At 70 you are now eligible to do your World Tier 3: Nightmare Capstone Dungeon, Known as Fallen Temple. If you Successfully complete your Capstone Dungeon you will unlock World Tier 4: Torment Difficulty.

Upon entering Torment Difficulty you will have now unlocked the ability to find new Uniques and Torment Sigils as well as newer version of the old legendaries, called Ancestral Items.

Pushing Higher Tier Torment Dungeons allows you to Level up your Glyphs (think legendary gems from D3) that you can then slot into your Paragon Board for extra bonuses.

Continue to push the any DungeonsCellarsEventsWorld Boss Fights and Helltides that you wish.

There is reportedly at least one giga-powerful final boss in the game for you to test your build against. Good Luck!
