Diablo 4 Tier List and Best Class

DIABLO 4 TIER LIST AND BEST CLASS

DIABLO 4 TIER LIST

In this Diablo Tier List we will go over the best and the worst classes in Diablo 4. This D4 tier list will hopefully explain some of the strengths and the weaknesses we’ve discovered so far. The Diablo 4 endgame is a largely unexplored destination, so this Tier List can be taken as early game tier list which includes projections into the future.

D4 TIER LIST OVERALL

S TIER SORCERER
S TIER ROGUE
A TIER BARBARIAN
A TIER NECRO
B TIER DRUID

Overall the Sorcerer and the Rogue have felt the best so far. The Sorcerer has a fantastic, easy to use, kit. Its class system is one of the best, if not the best, allowing you to spec into incredible AOE damage, or single target damage on the fly. Heading into a scary fight, slot your free death passive. Incredible.  On top of that, clearing entire screens full of enemies with one FireBall just feels good on the Sorcerer. For those reasons its landed on S Tier in this Tier List.

The Rogue’s class system was not far behind, with the combo point system allowing insane burst and control over damage output. The preparation class system looks like it will feel great later with some gear investment as well. Rogue very likely has the highest single target damage output in the game, making it perfect for killing bosses of all types. For that reason its landed in S Tier on this Tier List.

The Barbarian is a class that starts feeling stronger quickly, as you start to deck it out with legendary aspects. This is largely due to the fact that the Barbarian has more weapons than any other class, allowing it to wear more legendaries than any other class. This will likely result in the Barbarian feeling slightly weaker early on, and incredibly powerful later on. For that reason we have placed the Barbarian at A Tier on this Tier List

The Necromancer has lived an incredibly unstable life thus far. Initially it was way too strong, with corpse explosion one shotting everything, and minions that were capable of surviving the nuclear holocaust. Blizzard then nerfed the minions to die from slight breezes, then buffed them again to a more comfortable location. Early, the Necromancer feels incredibly capable, but the concern is that the minions will struggle in end game content. All in all the Necro kit looks and feels amazing, and for this reason we’ve placed the Necromancer at A Tier.

Finally we have the Druid. Famous or infamous, its hard to say. The Druid is a lot of things, a shapeshifter, an elementalist, and a summoner. So far the Druid has felt okay, where other’s have felt amazing. The slower screen clear, and slower boss kill rate have put the Druid down here at a B on the Tier list. But this could all change when the Druid gains access to its Class System. Its likely a lot of what made the Druid feel underwhelming, was directly due to the fact that it was the only class we couldn’t access the Class System on.

Note: All of this is subject to change as early and substantial game balancing takes place and as we access more end game systems like Uniques, Paragon Boards, and more.

D4 TIER LIST BOSSING

Is your primary concern taking down those big bad bosses in Diablo 4? Well then this portion of the Diablo 4 Tier list is just for you!

S TIER ROGUE
S TIER SORCERER
A TIER NECRO
A TIER BARBARIAN
B TIER DRUID

During the beta we saw one class solo Ashava, twice. That class was the Rogue, so naturally its going to hold down the top spot on this Diablo 4 Bossing Tier List.  It appears that right now the Rogue is the best class for killing bosses in D4.

The Sorcerer and the Necromancer didn’t feel too far behind.  With the Sorcerer  having plenty of defensive abilities to keep it in the fight, along with some incredibly powerful enchantments. Its easy to toss it in S Tier behind the Rogue on this Tier List.

In the early game the Necro and its summons have made boss fights a breeze. Often times, the summons keep the boss distracted so you can sit back and unload on the boss or raise more dead.

The Barbarian and the Druid were definitely among the harder classes to boss on. Mechanics in general felt a little more punishing for melee characters. On top of that, their resource doesn’t passively generate when they are not using their basic attack on the boss like the rest of the classes, which means they need to keep the boss on its heels  to keep their resources coming in. For that reason, we’ll throw them in the bottom of the Boss killing tier list for now.

Note: All of this is subject to change as early and substantial game balancing takes place and as we access more end game systems like Uniques, Paragon Boards, and more.

TIER LIST SCREEN CLEAR

Do you like to go fast? Ya, so do we. These classes felt the best for clearing screens full of enemies at a time. Generally, consistent, massive AOE damage that doesn’t rely on long cooldowns will get you high on the list.

S TIER SORCERER
S TIER ROGUE
A TIER NECRO
A TIER BARBARIAN
B TIER DRUID

The Sorcerer and the Rogue top the list as they don’t rely on long cool downs to pop entire screens full of enemies.  Sorcerer can spec into the Fireball enchantment, and the Rogue can spec into Shadow Imbuement to more or less evaporate entire screens of enemies at a time. All of this is possible without massive gear investment, putting both in the S tier position on this Diablo 4 Tier List.

The Necro comes in right behind them on this Tier List, as it has quite a few solid AOE abilities with little to no cooldowns, and minions that will run over and kill anything that doesn’t die so that you never have to stop to fight one or two mobs.

The Barbarian has great screen clearing capability with multiple abilities, but did feel like it needed some decent gear before this really started to click.

The Druid is at the bottom of this Screen Clear Tier List because a lot of its AOE damage relied on Cooldown abilities that you would have to wait for between packs of mobs. This slowed down its clear speed in the early game. Again, its wroth noting this could be improved with access to its class system, and of course end game gear.  Until we see all of that, the Druid is going to have to sit at B Tier on this Diablo 4 Tier List.

Note: All of this is subject to change as early and substantial game balancing takes place and as we access more end game systems like Uniques, Paragon Boards, and more.
